“But Peter said, ‘I have no silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!’ … And leaping up, he stood and began to walk, and entered the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God.”
– Acts 3:6, 8 (ESV)
Acts 3 paints a picture of raw, Spirit-filled Christianity—a crippled man instantly healed, a crowd filled with awe, and disciples who walked with a holy boldness.
Today, many believers ask: “Why don’t we see the same kind of fire in the Church anymore?” My answer can be summed up in one word: DARE.
DARE to Live Like Peter & John
Devotion
Peter and John were in position to be used because they lived in devotion. They weren’t rushing through life distracted—they built their days around time with God. Devotion fuels discernment and creates room for God to work through us.
Alertness
They noticed the man at the gate. How many opportunities do we miss because we’re too distracted? Sometimes the miracle begins with simply opening our eyes to the needs around us.
Responsiveness
The lame man asked for money, but God had something greater. Peter and John didn’t offer what they didn’t have—they gave what they did. Through faith in Christ, they offered healing, hope, and wholeness.
Evangelical Spirit
The man’s healing wasn’t just about him—it became a testimony that pointed the crowd to Jesus. When God touches your life, it’s never meant to stay hidden. Your testimony is fuel for someone else’s faith.
We all have our “Beautiful Gate” moments—times when God met us in our brokenness and raised us up. The question is: are we walking, leaping, and praising God in such a way that others see His power?
“Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story…” – Psalm 107:2 (NIV)
Today, DARE to live on fire for Jesus. Be devoted in prayer. Be alert to the needs around you. Respond with the love of Christ. Share your testimony boldly. Someone else’s miracle might be waiting on your obedience.
Go walk, leap, and praise God—so the world may see Him through you.
