Modern Day Parables 13 – Know Thy Worth…

Do you know your worth?

When you look at the bank notes in the picture, what do you see? Just some fancy, colorful paper? A bit of UK currency? Something that buys you fish and chips but not quite enough for rent?

Here’s the thing: one is worth £5 and the other £10. Same material, same origin, both can be crumpled, dropped, or even accidentally sent through the washing machine (don’t ask me how I know). Yet one is valued at twice the other.

Does the £10 note have extra skills, like the ability to juggle or make tea? Not really. Two fivers can accomplish the same as a tenner. The difference isn’t in their substance—it’s in the value that was assigned to them.

And that’s just like us. God made you in His image, not the bargain bin version. He stamped you with worth that doesn’t depend on people’s opinions, your mistakes, or even your circumstances.

So let me ask: do you live like the masterpiece God says you are, or are you walking around like you’re on clearance at a spiritual thrift store? Do you surround yourself with people who see your God-given value, or with folks who discount you like yesterday’s news?

Scripture reminds us, “You are fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:14).

That’s not clearance-rack talk—that’s Kingdom currency.

This is your call to action: know your worth, walk in it, and remember that in God’s economy, you are priceless.

Now go on—make thine own application (and maybe buy yourself a cuppa while you’re at it).
